County Royals Appoint Head Coach

The County Royals, proud members of the Central Ontario Super Hockey League(COSHL), are excited to announce the appointment of Kevin Purcell as the team's first Head Coach. The announcement was made today by Tyler Gubler, Owner and General Manager of the County Royals.


Kevin Purcell, a 44-year-old resident of Picton, Ontario, brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for hockey to his new role. Born in Oshawa, Ontario, Purcell has played all positions throughout his extensive hockey career, offering him a comprehensive understanding of the game. His coaching journey began in 2000, where he started coaching privately and within the Oshawa Minor Hockey League. Purcell further honed his coaching skills over a decade in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL), earning a reputation as a dedicated and strategic leader on and off the ice.


Tyler Gubler expressed his enthusiasm about the appointment, stating, "Kevin's commitment to the sport and his profound knowledge of hockey make him the ideal candidate to lead the County Royals. We are confident that under his guidance, our team will thrive and continue to grow within the community."


The County Royals are set to bring an exciting brand of hockey to Prince Edward County, with home games to be played at both the Picton and Wellington arenas. As the team gears up for the upcoming season, there are still player spots open for those eager to be part of this exciting journey. Additionally, the team is actively seeking sponsors and partners from within the community to support their efforts on and off the ice.
