"We Remember Them Night" at the next Oshawa RiverKings Home Game

We Remember Them Night at the next Oshawa RiverKings Home Game

The Oshawa RiverKings will remember those who have fallen, those who have served, and those who serve, at their next regular season home game in Rink One at the Oshawa Legends Centre, Monday, November 7th.

Besides the Junior A Hockey match between the home town RiverKings and the Northumberland Stars, “We Remember Them Night” will also pay tribute to our troops.

The night will begin at 8:30pm with an opening speech by Al Kerr. Next will be a ceremonial puck drop that will be followed by the reading of “In Flanders Fields.” “The Last Post” will then be played with a moment of silence. The ceremonies will end with the singing of “O Canada” by local singer and songwriter, and Royal Canadian Legion Member, Lorraine Davies, followed by the game opening puck drop.

For this night, admittance will be free of charge to any members of the Armed Forces, as well as any member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Membership cards or identification must be provided for free entry.

The Oshawa Legends Centre is located at 1661 Harmony Rd North, just north of Taunton Road.
