Press Release - For Immediate Release
Announcing the Apathy Party of Canada
The Apathy Party has announced that it is the newest unofficial political party. The Apathy Party plans to have representation at the federal, provincial, and municipal level in Canada.
The Apathy Party will be made up of Canadians who although complain about the government and the way things are run, don't actually do anything about it, specifically voting.
Co-Party Leaders, internet radio show hosts Buck and Buzz, will lead the party. Buck and Buzz have a weekly internet radio show on www.realtiyradio101.com Wednesday's at 9pm EST. They will be the leaders for federal and provincial levels, as well representatives for all municipal levels and positions by default..
Buck and Buzz state that the reason they have formed the party is that with the low levels of voting at federal, provincial, and municipal elections, they feel they have the best chance of being victorious with this type of party.
From this point on the Apathy Party will proclaim victory in every election when:
a) less than 51% of the eligible voting public come out to vote for any election
b) when 51% or more of the eligible voting public have come out, but the announced winner has less than 51% of that vote
There are two ways to be part of this party. The easiest, and most common in Canada, is don't vote. Although we won't know your name or where you are from, by not voting you have become a member of the Apathy Party by default.
The second way to join and become an official party member is to send your name, city, province, and picture to apathy@buckandbuzzshow.com. In doing you will be put on the official party web site as an official party member. Official party members have to also state what level, federal, provincial, or municipal, they want to be on. Official party members can be a member for more than one government level.
Official party members can also be an unofficial candidate for any riding of the government levels they are a member of. No Apathy Party Official member may actually register, run, or campaign for any riding. That would be against party policy.
