Meet the Owner and General Manager of The County Royals

The County Royals are proud to introduce Tyler Gubler, a passionate hockey enthusiast and experienced leader who is taking the helm as the Owner and General Manager of our team.

Tyler, 40, was born in Kitchener, Ontario, and has had a long and distinguished history in hockey. He began his journey playing minor hockey in Oshawa, before advancing to play major junior hockey for the Mississauga IceDogs. His commitment to the sport continued at the university level, where he played for Ontario Tech University. Tyler also spent five years with the Whitby Dunlops, where he played defense and solidified his reputation as a formidable player.

In addition to his playing career, Tyler has been dedicated to coaching and training hockey players since the age of 18. His deep understanding of the game and passion for developing talent has made him a respected figure in the hockey community.

Tyler’s decision to establish a team in Picton stems from his love for small-town hockey. "Small town hockey is amazing," he says. "There’s nothing that can compete with it. The love that fans and the community have for their team is unparalleled and unwavering."

He notes that the rinks are usually packed for every game, creating an electrifying atmosphere that is unique to small-town hockey. When presented with the opportunity to lead the County Royals, Tyler saw a chance to create a platform for players to continue their hockey careers after junior hockey. He is committed to building a team that not only excels on the ice but also strengthens the community’s bond with the sport.

Tyler is excited to bring his vision to life with the County Royals and looks forward to the journey ahead. Under his leadership, the team aims to embody the spirit of small-town hockey, delivering thrilling games and fostering a deep connection with fans.

Join us in welcoming Tyler Gubler to the County Royals family as we embark on an exciting new chapter of hockey in Picton.

The County Royals are set to bring an exciting brand of hockey to Prince Edward County, with home games to be played at both the Picton and Wellington arenas. As the team gears up for the upcoming season, there are still player spots open for those eager to be part of this exciting journey.
